No such thing as "This is not for me"!

Ladies ! Honestly ! We all have some closet pieces that we never shower enough love on as we have that "This is not for me" attitude towards them.
I just unknowingly broke two of my self imposed fashion rules that I had set for myself as I used to think those trends were absolutely unflattering for my petite frame and round face. a)The mock neck and b) skirt that hits below the knees. Rules (especially self imposed ones) can get stressful and suck the fun out of things a lot of times. So I decided to break free and fearlessly experiment by pairing these two tricky pieces together for a mid week get-together. Never felt as liberating, as I did that day!
The mock turtle neck has emerged as a top trend in NYFW and has wriggled its way off the runways and into our daily lives. This Fall weather staple has proven its versatility by popping up just about everywhere this season from street style scene to red carpet and beyond. There's not a style and a look in the world that the tight mock turtle necks can’t nail. While the classic piece has proven to be a fashion favorite off late, it can be a tricky item to style especially for a round face like mine . So I decided to skip the jazz (buttons/snaps/zippers) , and went for this classic Ann Taylor mock neck in solid color for that chic polish. This mock turtle neck is the perfect way to start Fall transition: it covers the body snugly, it is made of soft body hugging warm fabric, can translate to any style, it can look proper, polished, sexy, retro, luxe, glam… you name it. Seems like it’s the right time for the turtle neck to come out of its shell.
Tucked it in this edgy JCrew midi skirt to look strong and sharp, with some emphasis brought to the ankle. Unlike fall's minis, which benefit from layering a jacket on top, these super skirts look complete with just a sweater, whether it's a long and loose knit to match the vibe of a hanky hem or a simple mock-neck to show off a more figure-hugging style
To not run the risk of stepping too much out of my comfort zone, I complemented the look with my staple accessories - My cute Fendi sunnies, my Tory Burch clutch and my sleek MK kitten heels.
So Ladies! This weekend set yourself free from any self imposed fashion rules and bask in that liberating feeling.
