LBD with a flirty twist!

Our family has crazy rituals. I do not know why, but its a rule that we eat at Zeeks Pizza every Friday night followed by Frozen Yogurt treat at a neighborhood joint and Saturday morning brunch at a typical American breakfast place. Its funny how kids are so conditioned to it that any deviation from the ritual will result into 101 questions and apprehensions.
I love dressing up on weekend outings too, but since going out involves kids, I have to be dressed super comfy yet stylish. This fun and flirty Tired Ruffled Skirt LBD from Banana Republic was just perfect for our Saturday brunch with kids last weekend.
Audrey Hepburn. Lady Diana Spencer. Kate Moss. Bella Hadid . These style icons are known for their impeccable taste in dresses, little black ones in particular. The LBD possesses what so many want to achieve with their style: effortless elegance. It’s the fashion uniform for a reason: you can’t go wrong with black. Not only that, black imbues contradictory sensory associations. It is severe and seductive, demure and raven, posh and discreet, austere and chic.
Ideally I like my LBDs in sheath or fit and flare silhouette but this BR LBD had a fun and flirty twist that was perfect for a casual brunch. The ruffles on the skirt are so cute and fun that I almost wanted to salsa in it or at-least my daughter wanted me to flap and flutter it in the wind. The top runs a little large but not too awkward, so I ll keep it.
I always love complementing mono-chromes with a pop of color, so I could think of nothing better than my super stylish fuchsia pumps from BCBGeneration. Finally I completed my look with my favorite Fendi sunnies and Kate Spade bag.
My friend on Instagram recommended I also write about how I styled my hair. So here you go- Literally 2 minutes task -Curl your hair first for added texture, so the braid has more grip — you can even coat it with some hairspray. Next, create part in the center, take one side and pull a portion from front and begin french braiding it pulling pieces from your hairline each time till you go past your ear. Clip off the braid so it doesn't unravel. Repeat from the other side following the nape of your neck until it meets the first braid. Then tie the remaining hair in a messy bun. Isnt that so much fun!!
So what are you waiting for ladies! Get this "flow in the wind" look for your next weekend outing.
